Labor Day Weekend Fun Tennis Play
Monday, September 7th - Tournament playing format and starting time TBD.
Olympics Tennis
The dates for the events are as follows: Ladies - October 13th at 8 AM; Mens - October 16th at 8 AM; Team - October 20th at 8 AM.
The format for the events is:
Mens and Ladies Tennis Format – The players are divided into groups of 8. They will play 4 games with each of the other 7 players in their group. Every player will serve once during the 4 game set. Change ends after Game 1 and 3. Use regular tennis scoring. If the games are tied at 2 games each, play a 5 point Coman tiebreaker – first team to 5 earns the “win”. Change partners after each 4 game set. The player with the most “wins” receives the gold medal. If there is a tie with the number of wins, the number of games won will be added to the wins.
Team Tennis Format – Depending on the number of players, 3 teams will be formed (Red, White and Blue), pairing 2 players of equal ability. They will play one full set against the other colors, so each doubles team ends up playing 2 sets. Scoring – Each set will be a full set with ADD scoring. The first team to 6 games wins the set. You must win by 2 games. If tied at 6 – 6, play a 7 point Coman tiebreaker. First to 7 wins. The team (color) that wins the most sets wins the gold medal. (With 3 teams of 12 to 16 players, each player will receive a medal.)
